    What are some simple steps that iPhone and Android owners can take to make their phones more secure?

    Last week, CIS staffers Andy and Obasi presented phone security sessions as part of BEar AWARE month. We'd like to share some of our favorite tips from these sessions.

    We've made a change to the way that Adobe Creative Cloud Applications are installed on Brown-owned computers.

    The process for Creative Cloud installation is now the same as the personal version: instead of downloading each piece of Adobe software individually from the software catalog, you can simply install the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application and manage software installation and updates from within that program.

    Aneel Bhusri is a Brown alumnus and the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Workday. He has been a leader and innovator in enterprise software for over twenty years and is a Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. He will be joining us at Brown University for a conversation with Ravi Pendse (Vice President and Chief Information Officer, CIS), followed by Q&A, as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series: Leadership in Technology.

    On September 30th, Apple released its newest operating system, El Capitan (Mac OS X 10.11).

    We're evaluating the final release of El Capitan for compatibility with Brown's computing environment and upgrading our systems where necessary.

    Although the "beta" version appeared to work well in Brown's computing environment, we do not yet recommend upgrading because there are usually issues with the first release of any new operating system. We've heard of the following issues occurring after an upgrade:

He will be joining us at Brown University for a conversation followed by Q&A as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series: Leadership in Technology.

    When we announced Brown's Adobe Creative Cloud for personally-owned computers, some of you told us that it was missing a feature you needed: cloud storage. 

    Now, Brown's Adobe Creative Cloud license includes cloud storage and collaboration. This addition provides us with more than just storage: it allows us to log into mobile apps and work seamlessly between different Adobe products.
