Over winter break, CIS made updates to Brown's TV system, Philo.

In partnership with Residential Life, with feedback from UCS and other students, we will be updating Brown's TV system, Philo, to make all channels available in HD and add new channels including HBO! This change will occur by January 20th, 2017. Due to this change, there will be an interruption in service from January 9th at 8am until January 13th at 6pm.

    What's changing?

High Definition: After the upgrade, all 60 channels will be broadcast in HD.

Does your research require IT services such as high performance computing, data storage, or visualization?

We are working on a directory of research IT services and are looking for members of the Brown community to complete an online exercise to help us categorize these services.

The exercise will take approximately ten minutes and will be available through Friday, December 9th.

When you link to a Google Drive file in an email, and the email recipients don't have access to the file, Gmail suggests a sharing option.

We are making a small change to the available options on Wednesday, November 30th, 2016.

The previous option was to make the file accessible to anyone at Brown, as long as they have the link.

  • Fri. 11/18 @ 12pm

Google Docs let you type with your voice when you're using the Chrome browser.
