Subject: Welcome to the Inclusive Access program at Brown University
To: Josiah Carberry <josiah_carberry@brown.edu>
Welcome to Inclusive Access, Brown University Bookstore's digital course materials program. The program offers eBooks and publisher courseware at a lower price than the bookstore or publisher websites. This term, one or more of your professors is taking part in the program so you can get your required materials at the lowest price.
So what does this mean for you? For the Fall 22' term you can access your digital materials for a free trial, through Canvas, for the entire Brown University shopping period. After the trial period, the University will charge your bursar account the exclusive discounted price. If you decide you do not want the materials through inclusive access, you must opt out of the program through a link in Canvas or through the digital provider, Redshelf. You can also email us at textbooks@brown.edu, to request to be opted out of the program. As long as you opt out by 9/21/2022, the end of the shopping period, your bursar account will not be charged. If your materials are covered by financial aid, this will apply to your inclusive Access charges as well. Students may opt in and out up until that date. If you drop a class during the shopping period you will not be charged for your material.
Failure to opt out by the due date may lead to non refundable charges to your account.
More information about Inclusive Access is available at shopbrown.com under the textbooks FAQ tab, or you can contact the textbook department at 863-2270.
