Phish Bowl Alerts
See here for a rudimentary phishing attempt, prompting the user for an email response rather than to click a link or open an attachment. The various examples we've seen have utilized the names and addresses of actual Brown University faculty members, but the message itself comes from a generic Gmail address. Additional key red flags include a single word subject line, vague content and a lack of specific information about the nature of the request. Remain vigilant and always verify the authenticity of email requests, especially those seeking a direct response or action from you. Report any suspicious emails and remember that a cautious approach is our best defense.
