Phony request to update Verily profile

Phish Bowl Alerts

University Human Resources (UHR) warns the Brown community that emails supposedly from Verily, a third-party COVID-19 testing vendor, have been reported. If you receive an email like the following, please contact us at phishbowl@brown.eduNote that the VerilyTestingData email address has been filtered, preventing recipients from being able to respond to it.

Legitimate email communications with VUS (Verily) includes there two types of emails that can be sent to participants:

1. Inbound Inquiry to healthyatwork@verily.com will trigger an auto-responder email to the participant.

2. Outbound or Reply from VUS to participant will vary in subject line and content, but will include a case # and will always be sent by healthyatwork@verily.com with a different sign off (e.g., "Sam from Team Healthy").

The following is an example of a phishing email.

Hello Josiah,  at the next earliest convenience please forward any documentation regarding the date of your quarantine period for updating your verily profile in order to be able to continue testing at your employers location. You can still book a test, but we  will not be able to administer one without being able to update your profile without documents of quarantine.

Please reply to this email and send to us also any concerns you have you may contact below.
