Phishing via text message - Are You Available variation

Phish Bowl Alerts

Beware the texting variation on the "Are you available?" phishing scam, with both currently being reported to the Phish Bowl. The messaging follows a familiar storyline -- are you available, can you help me now, I'm in a meeting and can't do this myself, please purchase a gift card --but arrives on your phone via a text message like the example below.

If you receive a text like this, do not respond to it and instead mark it as spam. Read the FTC's article How to Recognize and Report Spam Text Messages for detailed guidance.
