European Society of Medicine solicitations

Phish Bowl Alerts

Similar to Research Review Requests, solicitations to submit research to the "European Society of Medicine" and/or present at its General Assembly could result in lost money or time, as reported on Flaky Academic Conferences. The site notes that "It is not obvious what the "European Society of Medicine" is. It might be a creation of the alleged predatory publisher Knowledge Enterprises, Inc. (KEI)." These kinds of solicitations have also been reported by ResearchGate and the University of Groningen.

We recommend that if you receive such a request, forward it to the Phish Bowl and then mark the email as phishing (open the message in a browser, click on the stack of three dots to the right of the REPLY button and select "Report phishing").

Subject: Osteoarthritis session plans - "Transcriptional profiling of articular cartilage in a porcine model of early post-traumatic osteoarthritis"
To: Josiah Carberry <josiah_carberry@brown.edu>

Dear Dr. Josiah Carberry,

I'm hoping to learn more about your Osteoarthritis work, in particular related to your article "Transcriptional profiling of articular cartilage in a porcine model of early post-traumatic osteoarthritis". Have you still been active in this area?

I am working to fill a few remaining speaking slots in the Osteoarthritis session of European Society of Medicine's General Assembly this August 4-6. If you are available perhaps you could deliver a virtual presentation.

Would this be of interest to you?

Sincerely,

Organizing Committee

Dear Dr. Carberry,

Your COVID-19 work recently caught my attention and I wanted to get in contact with you. COVID-19 is one of the core sessions I am planning for European Society of Medicine's General Assembly next year. I think your work could fit well within the session, maybe as a presentation related to your article "Strategies to Survive in Post-COVID 19 Pandemic Era: A Case Study on a Service Provider".

The assembly is August 4-6 in Madrid. There is also the option to participate online.

May we discuss this idea?

Sincerely,

M. Osman, M.D.

Dear Dr. Josiah Carberry,

I am hoping to talk to you about your Orthopedics work. I enjoyed reading your article "Design of a biaxial mechanical loading bioreactor for tissue engineering" and I was thinking that your work would be interesting to include in the Orthopedic Medicine session of our General Assembly next year.

I am on the organizing committee and am working on filling a few remaining speaker slots. The meeting is both in person and online.

May we discuss this further?

Best Regards,

M. Osman, M.D.
