CIS Tech Summit 2018

Join us on Friday April 27th, 2018 for CIS's second Tech Summit!

Our annual Tech Summit highlights innovative uses of technology that connect people and ideas at Brown. Join us to hear from members of the Brown community who are using technology in creative and exciting ways. Topics will include accessible technology, augmented reality, big data, super secure storage, teaching with remote applications, streamlining IT security, and more. In addition, there will be a lunch keynote and tours of cool tech-enabled spaces.

We're pleased to be co-sponsoring a lunch keynote by Michael Slaby '01: From Obama's Presidential Campaigns To Startups: Changing the World Through Technology with the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship. Please register for lunch if you plan to attend.

Learn about the work being done to improve disability awareness and access to technology, including Brown’s effort to provide closed captioning and transcription services, making video accessible, searchable, and more engaging.

      • Michael Slaby ’01, a former Brown varsity soccer player, found himself in the world of politics and entrepreneurship soon after graduation. Through his leadership experiences in both of the Obama Campaigns to the Head of Timshel, a technology company that builds platforms to drive human progress, Michael has become obsessed with changing and improving the world through technology and innovation.  Now, he is the Executive Director of Chicago Ideas, a movement built on one core belief: When a broad spectrum of thinkers and instigators share ideas, we have the power to transform our world.
