Legitimate: Lifespan Secure Message Notifications

In response to questions about "You have received a secure message notifications" from Lifespan.org email addresses, these are legitimate emails (example below) using Cisco's "registered envelope service" (RES) to deliver messages. First time recipients will need to create an account as detailed in the notification. Note that clicking on the document will direct you to a Google doc form; from there, logging in will result in a URL containing a Cisco address (ex: res.cisco.com).

Read your secure message by opening the attachment, securedoc.html. You will be prompted to open (view) the file or save (download) it to your computer. For best results, save the file first, then open it in a Web browser. To access from a mobile device, forward this message to mobile @res.cisco.com to receive a mobile login URL.

If you have concerns about the validity of this message, contact the sender directly.
